The endowed chair will provide visionary leadership in an area pertaining to communication and learning disorders. The faculty is expected to conduct a nationally recognized research program yielding published, peer-reviewed scholarship, and collaborative research endeavors. Seek opportunities for external funding to support their scholarship and /or service. Teach and supervise graduate and undergraduate students as appropriate. The endowed chair also serves as a faculty member and is responsible for teaching, providing supervision, and mentoring students and student research. A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational environment is essential.

Adjunct-HPD Coll of Optometry
1. Prepares and delivers instruction to OPT. students and/or graduate students. 2. Facilitate activities in the classroom or laboratory. 3. Act as a liaison between the students and the faculty course coordinator. 4. Provide and facilitate examinations. May include assigning grades consistent with course requirements. 5. Teaches or facilitates classes based on varied schedules to accommodate diverse student needs and to meet the expectations of the College as assigned by the designated faculty course coordinator. 6. Follows the course curriculum as assigned. 7. Prepares assignments. 8. Evaluates student performance and learning. 9. Maintains an active classroom environment conducive to student learning and success. 10. Adjuncts working in the laboratories may also engage in patient or healthcare professional role play, small group discussions, and skill facilitation. 11. Required to complete NSU mandatory training. For example, HIPAA compliance, technology training, Canvas training, etc. 12. Performs other related duties as assigned by either the Chair, Assistant Dean, or faculty course coordinator.
