Job Title: Laboratory Research Assistant I - College of Pharmacy
Location: Fort Lauderdale-Davie, Florida

Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience

Subject to Grant Funding?: No  
Essential Job Functions: 1. Performs research activities to ensure optimal assistance is provided to faculty in a timely and efficient manner.

2. Enters data into the Ariba system for requisitions to ensure accurate record-keeping.

3. Records observations and measurements and reports results to ensure availability of data for management use.

4. Maintains and cleans laboratory rooms and equipment.

5. Orders and stocks supplies and materials to ensure inventory is maintained at the appropriate level.

6. May monitor/guide the activities of student employees, students and teaching assistants.

7. Performs other duties as required.
Marginal Job Functions:  
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Computer literate.

2. Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy.

3. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

4. Organization and time management skills.

5. Proactive, punctual and reliable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK CONDITIONS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.

2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.

4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to glass, laboratory and chemical supplies, equipment, pens, pencils and computer keyboards.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Minimum one (1) of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a laboratory environment.
