Essential Job Functions: The first priority of all members of the Law Center team is to serve the Law Center's faculty, students, and patrons. Each team member will not be limited by this job description in an effort to assist our constituency, but will perform tasks assigned by supervisor(s). Team members will be readily available, visible, and accessible to faculty, students and patrons, and if unable to answer an inquiry, they will ensure assistance is provided by another member of the Law Center team.

1. Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
2. Reports to management regarding the finances of assigned unit(s).
3. Develops, maintains, and analyzes budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted revenues and expenses to actuals.
4. Interprets budget directives and ensures compliance.
5. Prepares purchase orders, check requests, expense reports, journal entries, and budget transfers.
6. Compiles budget data and documents, based on estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets.
7. Reviews operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs, and takes corrective action when needed.
8. Serves as a link between management, employees, and Human Resources by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems.
9. Advises managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommends needed changes.
10. Performs difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
11. Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and contracts, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
12. Contacts job applicants to inform them of the status of their applications.
13. Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
14. Maintains current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
15. Maintains records and compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
16. Conducts exit interviews and ensures that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
17. Maintains and updates human resources documents, such as organizational charts, directories, or performance evaluation forms.
18. Provides management with information or training related to interviewing, performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues.
19. Completes special projects as assigned.
20. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Administration and Management - Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and/or coordination of people and resources.
2. Economics and Accounting - Working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
3. Personnel and Human Resources - Working knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems.
4. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
5. Customer and Personal Service - Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
6. Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements:
1. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
2. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.
3. Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
4. May be required to work nights or weekends.
5. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
6. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
7. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards.

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of related business experience.

--OR—

Associates degree or 60 college credits and three (3) years of related business experience.

--OR--

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related and one (1) or more years of related business experience.
