Essential Job Functions: This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.

1. Plan and implement an appropriate curriculum.

2. Establish an enriching, safe, and clean classroom and playground environment.

3. Demonstrate effective class management.

4. Design and develop learning materials.

5. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with participating parents and coworkers.

6. Fulfill work obligations including: promptness, staff meetings, open house attendance, and parent orientations.

7. Complete state mandated child care training in the first year of hire. Enroll within the first 90 days of employment and complete within 1 year of hire date.

8. Attend and complete designated in-service trainings provided by MSI, in addition to yearly in-service training hours mandated by the state of Florida

9. Maintain a professional posture regarding program participants, co-workers, and administration.

10. Other duties as assigned.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Present at professional workshops.

2. Assist staff in special project assignments.

3. Attend Family Center and University sponsored functions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to lift, carry, and put down up to fifty (50) pounds on a continuous basis.

2. Repeated lifting and placing down of children required.

Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: 1. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

2. Two (2) years experience working with children from birth to ten years of age.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Graduate degree in early childhood or related field.

2. Familiarity, knowledge and demonstration of appropriate, positive, parenting techniques and interactions.
