Essential Job Functions: 1. Conducts extensive patient interviews including completing patient histories, creating detailed and comprehensive notes using computer templates.
2. Performs physical examinations and discusses preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physicians.
3. Maintains updated training in all specialty areas seen in the Geriatrics inclusive of but not limited to allergy/immunology, cardiology and rheumatology.
4. Provides on-call coverage and/or other clinic duties as assigned
5. Collaborates with physician to prepare comprehensive patient treatment plan.
6. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests including but not limited to cognitive, and other psychological screening tests, EKG interpretation and analysis of continuous glucose monitoring reports.
7. Orders lab tests as appropriate including completion of all required paperwork.
8. Educates and counsels patients on nutrition, exercise, copying and managing their health as appropriate to patients.
9. Fields patient phone calls, emails and answers patient, provider and vendor questions related to medical concerns.
10. Prescribes varied forms of drugs and other treatment methods to patients.
11. Maintains medical records, charts, templates, paper and electronic medical records when available.
12. Draws blood and starts IV lines, if required.
13. Conducts teaching to students on rotation while in the Geriatrics clinics.
14. Completes all assigned compliance/clinic and/or other assigned training
15. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions:  
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of principles and practice associated with the rights and responsibilities of patients and caregivers.

2. Knowledge of and ability to use industry standards, policies and procedures relevant to function and organization.

3. Knowledge of and ability to assess ailments and injuries of patients and implement a treatment plan.

4. Knowledge of the operating principles, major issues, governmental regulations and code of ethics for the healthcare industry, ability to apply this understanding appropriately to healthcare related situations.

5. Knowledge of the relevance of health information and appropriate documentation methods, ability to record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests and medical results in written or electronic form.

6. Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these tasks.

Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures: 1. Maintains current FL nursing license.

2. Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP).
Required Education: Master's Degree
Major (if required): Nursing (BSN)
Required Experience: Five (5) years of related experience and/or training, including research.
