Job Title: Senior Payroll Systems Analyst - 999475

Essential Job Functions: 1. Ensures successful interface between Banner payroll and Banner finance and between Kronos and Banner Payroll.

2. Ensures successful interface between Banner payroll and other ancillary systems such as third-party NRA taxing software.

3. Monitors, maintains, administers and troubleshoots the Kronos database system and provides training on the use of Kronos to coordinators and payroll staff. Monitor Ellucian (Banner) User Groups for current issues and future fixes, patches or upgrades.

4. Coordinates payroll testing when system upgrades and patches are to be implemented by OIIT to ensure the integrity of the payroll system.

5. Serves as liaison between payroll and OIIT personnel and outside technical staff trouble shooting problems.

6. Keeps current and knowledgeable of information regarding all payroll activities of the university, including current government regulations and NSU practices and policies.

7. Processes payroll for subsidiaries. Ensure accurate payments; all accounts correctly debited or credited; all taxes properly withheld and promptly deposited; all deductions properly withheld and distributed to correct liability account, and payment processed.

8. Reads manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn how to develop programs that meet staff and user
requirements.

9. Develops and implements processes and reports to audit data quality, ensure accuracy, and increase productivity.

10. Writes queries and prepares reports using MS Access to assist with BANNER problems and retrieve Banner data. Review all payroll reports for detection of problems.

11. Researches and resolves payroll issues and inquiries with departmental contacts and other university personnel.

12. Creates and maintains reports to assist in the reconciliation of the W-2, 941, 940 and UCT-6 processes (employee and employer related payroll forms). Assist in the research of any discrepancies.

13. Works with auditors as needed to assist in fiscal year end processing.

14. Assists in the processing of W-2s and 1042s (Foreign Person Subject to Withholding) from Banner and assist in the distribution and production of corrected and reprinted forms.

15. Acts as project leader for assigned projects.

16. Performs other duties and projects as assigned by Payroll Systems Manager.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Assists the Human Resources Management staff, and/or other office staff, in special project assignments.

2. On an occasional basis, travels to different locations to pick up reports or receive additional training.

3. Keeps current with government regulations and adhering to them efficiently
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Excellent verbal and communication skills.

2. Ability to work and cooperate with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

3. Ability to process high volumes of information accurately within rigid time schedule.

4. Ability to maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.

5. Proficiency in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office, advanced Excel and Access skills.

6. Highest level of confidentiality regarding payroll and wage/salary data and issues.

7. Ability to review, understand and apply concepts presented in training programs, conferences and/or professional literature.

8. Ability to work independently.

9. Excellent decision making skills.

10. Good communication skills.

Required Experience: Four (4) to Six (6) years of experience in the field or in a closely related area.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master's Degree

2. Banner payroll knowledge.

3. Internet proficiency.

4. Kronos experience.
