Essential Job Functions: 1. Recommends opportunities and unmet needs for complex illnesses that are mediated by neuroinflammation.
2. Represents as subject matter expert in neuroinflammation and multisystem effects of neuroinflammation in complex illnesses such as post viral fatigue syndromes, neurotoxic injuries, neurodegeneration and autism.
3. Collaborates closely with key opinion leaders in the field to seek guidance, develop novel concepts to meet the needs of the research mission of the Institute for Neuro Immune Medicine.
4. Participates in collaborative investigations with faculty and researchers in KPCOM and within NSU.
5. Supervises funded and pilot research programs with an eye for timeliness and budget. Serve as a senior scientist in the institute, contributing to the leadership structure of the institute.
6. Provides expert feasibility analyses and in-depth interpretation of data generated with an eye towards partnering opportunities and clinical development.
7. Establishes fund raising and direct the INIM Center of Excellence for Neuroinflammation Science affiliated with the Clearwater KPCOM.
8. Provides strategic insight into clinical development projects and the path to further funding.
9. Supervises faculty and staff performing studies of molecular biology, bioenergenics, and immunological assays as needed to maintain positive workflow.
10. Advises junior faculty and provide leadership in the development of the research program at the Clearwater campus
11. Establishes regional, national and international conferences and education sessions of the subject matter of your research and expertise.
12. Provides curriculum development as needed.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
