Essential Job Functions: 1. Responds to inquiries and resolves discrepancies involving simple to moderately complex financial transactions in a timely manner, requiring a general understanding of work-area policies and procedures.

2. Acts as liaison with other departments, divisions, or organizations.

3. Operates computers programmed with finance/accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.

4. Operates 10-key calculators and copy/scan machines to perform calculations and produce documents.

5. Debits, credits, and totals accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.

6. Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and for correct entries.

7. Generates reports to ensure timely information is available for management use.

8. Scans and files forms and documents using electronic/manual filing systems to ensure appropriate document retention.

9. Performs general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, scheduling meetings/appointments/events and handling routine correspondence.

10. Contacts customers or employees to obtain or relay account information.

11. Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.

12. Data entry for journal entries for NSU and Grande Oaks. Directs related high volume of line transactions each month University wide.

13. Coordinates the uploads for Journal Entries and JEXL feeds into Banner, and reconciles related departmental errors for NSU and Grand Oaks.

14. Constructs entries for processing and scanning for document retention for both Treasury and Contracts & Grants.

15. Maintains and files Journal Entries log.

16. Generates banking reports.

17. Sorts and distributes Treasury mail and bank statements.

18. Creates Ariba reimbursement reports.

19. Serve as backup for staff accountant miscellaneous reports and mail.

20. Maintains and updates the Treasurer filing system.

21. Prepares and mails out documents.

22. Completes special projects as assigned.

23. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions:  
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
2. Basic knowledge of MS Access and/or other database reporting tools.
3. Clerical - Working knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
4. English Language - Working knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
5. Customer and Personal Service ? Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.

1. Active Listening - Proficient skills in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
2. Reading Comprehension - Basic understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
3. Speaking - Basic skills in talking to others to convey information effectively.
4. Mathematics - Basic skills in using mathematics to solve problems.
5. Time Management - Basic skills in managing one's own time and the time of others.
6. Writing - Basic skills in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

1. Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
2. Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
3. Mathematical Reasoning - The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
4. Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

Physical Requirements:
1. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
