Essential Job Functions: 1. Provides regular updates and presentation materials to the VP for Compliance for inclusion in reports for university leadership, and the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Trustees.

2. Assists the VP for Compliance with the day-to-day management of the University Compliance Program.

3. Participates in creation, monitoring, updates, and tracking of compliance education and communication, including promoting use of the Ethics and Compliance Reporting Hotline System, and awareness of the Employee Code of Ethical Conduct.

4. Assists the VP for Compliance with the continuous improvement of the University Compliance Program involving the compliance partners/high-risk compliance areas across the university, including participation in program self-assessments and external reviews.

5. Addresses inquiries, hotline concerns, and other maters within the scope of the University Compliance Program including maintaining compliance records of the Ethics and Compliance Reporting Hotline System.

6. Assists the VP for Compliance and the leadership of the compliance partners/designated high-risk compliance areas with the development of internal policies and procedures.

7. Coordinates with the VP for Compliance and legal counsel, as applicable, regarding the proper reporting of identified violations.

8. Assists the VP for Compliance with the development and implementation of a multi-year strategic program and a corresponding set of strategic goals.

9. Assist the VP for Compliance and leadership of the compliance partners/designated high-risk compliance areas facilitate risk mitigation through policy development, process improvement, and education.

10. Participates in relevant compliance and ethics organizations, including attending conferences, and related activities.

11. Evaluates emerging compliance trends and makes recommendations to the VP for Compliance for implementing best practices to support the continuous improvement within the scope of the University Compliance Program.

12. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned by the VP for Compliance.
Marginal Job Functions:  
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Knowledge and understanding of university policies and procedures and the regulatory environment in which they operate.
2. Highly effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with senior administration, faculty, staff, and students.
3. Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and judgment through sound decision-making to obtain solutions through collaborative efforts with a wide variety of offices and departments throughout the university.
4. Experience using and applying process improvement best practices/techniques.
5. Excellent project management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Experience with tools/systems that support major compliance areas such as: basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, case management systems and Excel.
7. Demonstrates success in training and educating a range of stakeholders in a university and/or healthcare setting.
8. Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion.

Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: Master's Degree
Major (if required): In appropriate area
Required Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in compliance, law, or related fields.
Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or certification within 1 year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Compliance or legal experience within an institution of higher education or an academic medical center;
2. Knowledge of compliance principles, terminology, and regulatory requirements that impact universities and academic medical centers; and
3. Prior experience in audit or investigations.
