Essential Job Functions: |
1. Reviews student accounts for completion, accuracy and adjustments in accordance with federal financial aid regulations, state statutes, and institutional guidelines.
2. Provides counseling, responds to inquiries, and resolves issues for students and parents regarding financial aid matters such as documentation, registration, bursar and advisement, amongst others.
3. Creates presentations and assists in delivering financial aid presentations or workshops. Attends and participates in financial aid related activities.
4. Participates in financial aid duties such as verifications, c-flag reviews, and aggregate loan breakdowns of selected student applications.
5. Acts as liaison with Admission Office regarding recruiting and other financial aid matters.
6. Communicates with academic units regarding registration issues for students requesting financial aid.
7. May perform specialty work as assigned.
8. Works evening and weekends as requested.
9. Performs other duties as assigned. |
Marginal Job Functions: |
1. Travels to and participates in job related meetings, conferences and workshops.
2. Participates in special projects assignments. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: |
1. Familiarity with federal and state financial aid regulations.
2. Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
3. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a cultural diverse environment.
4. Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to pay close attention to detail.
6. Ability to use good judgment, excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
7. Understanding of University rules and regulations.
8. Ability to work in a Microsoft Window-based environment using various software packages (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
9. Ability to maintain confidential information.
10. Ability to work flexible hours in the evenings and weekends. |
