Essential Job Functions: 1. Responsible for all aspects of accounting, related to areas identified/assigned by the Assistant Controller.

2. Coordinates activities with other areas of the university involved in the specific area of accounting.

3. Completes periodic analysis and reviews, including the completion of spreadsheets, and journal entries.

4. Completes reconciliations and detailed account analysis.

5. Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and annual reports to both internal NSU constituents as well as external agencies.

6. Recommends, creates, and updates policies and procedures as needed.

7. Provides training and conducts meetings throughout the University as needed to disseminate information, improve processes, or improve reporting functionality.

8. Assists in the monthly and fiscal year end process as needed, including but not limited to the preparation of work papers, reconciliations and account analysis.

9. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Controller, Tax Director, Controller or Vice President for Finance.
Marginal Job Functions: Assists in special projects and assignments for Financial Operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Proficiency in Excel and Access, ability to work in Word.

2. Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

3. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

4. Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.

5. Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize work in a fast paced environment.
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Minimum of four (4) years' experience in an accounting related position.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master's degree in Accounting and/or CPA.

2. Familiarity with fund and/or not-for-profit accounting principles.

3. Familiarity with Banner Financial Systems.

4. Financial reporting experience in an not-profit FASB environment.
