Essential Job Functions: |
1. Responsible for all aspects of maintenance, housekeeping, and custodial needs for all arena operations.
2. Assists the Arena Management in overseeing and maintaining a working operational staff of full-time and part-time staff, custodians, maintenance, and HVAC contract personnel.
3. Schedules, trains, and supervises event set-up and breakdown staff.
4. Responsible for the daily upkeep of the arena interior via university work order systems.
5. Assists Arena Manager with pre-event meetings: to confer with meeting planners, association executives, and promoters to ensure events are executed according to customer guidelines.
6. Forecasts staff needs to ensure timely setup and breakdown and conversion.
7. Works with arena management to follow budgetary event expense guidelines.
8. Works with Accounting Manager to ensure proper and accurate billing and payments are processed.
9. Works with NSU Management to ensure all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, and procedures are followed.
10. Collects vendor invoices in a timely fashion.
11. Works directly with in-house and external production team to execute promotions accurately and effectively.
12. Recommends capital equipment needs for the University Center Arena to ensure cost effective rental inventory for client use.
13. Performs other duties as assigned. |
Marginal Job Functions: |
1. May be required to travel off- site to attend conferences and training. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: |
1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
2. Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, support staff, vendors and supervisory staff at all levels.
3. Ability to utilize industry and technical trade tools.
4. Ability to analyze and forecast staff and budget projections for arena operations. |
Job Requirements: |

3. Able to use a desktop computer, laptop computer and digital tablets
4. Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and associated software
5. Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch
6. Able to safely lift 50 pounds
7. Able to lift, carry, push, pull a variety of tools, equipment, and materials
8. Ability to utilize industry and technical trade tools.
9. Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. |

1. Two (2) years' experience in arena operations environment.
