Essential Job Functions: | 1. Teach undergraduate or graduate Physician Assistant course(s) in the classroom as assigned. 2. Select teaching and evaluation strategies appropriate to the students and setting. 3. Present ideas clearly. 4. Create a climate that is conducive to learning. 5. Provide and maintain a reliable schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, remediation and consultation. 6. Participate in program, department, college-wide and university-wide committees and meetings. 7. Engage in curriculum development related to current and new courses. 8. Maintain a personal professional development plan, which may include research or other creative activities, to assure growth and currency within the academic field. 9. Display behavior consistent with professional ethics. |
Marginal Job Functions: | 1. Participate in state and/or local community service that is a recognized form of career development. 2. Mentor and/or orient new faculty as assigned. 3. Teach courses and/or perform special duties as assigned. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | 1. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to effectively present information to students, public groups or professional organizations in the English language. 2. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with appropriate mathematical concepts specific to the particular discipline. Ability to apply concepts to practical situations. 3. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.). 4. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors and support staff at all levels. |

Preferred Qualifications: | 1. Doctoral degree in related area of specialization. 2. Current NCCPA certification preferred. 3. Eligible for licensure in the State of Florida, if applicable. 4. Five (5) years of related experience and/or training, including clinical experience. |
