Primary Purpose:
Provides vision, leadership and management to the office of Academic Services for Student-Athletes.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Coordinates advising needs, issues and programs in collaboration with NSU Academic Advising.
2. Coordinates the career development programs in coordination with NSU Career Services Office programs, including: workshops, student-athlete career exposition, mock interviews, and resume workshops.
3. Assesses effectiveness of student success initiatives and work with The College of Undergraduate Studies, other student services departments to pilot programs for the general undergraduate student population that have shown success in increasing athlete engagement and success.
4. Provides direct oversight of the daily operations of this unit to include budget management, staff supervision, training and development, planning and assessment activities for the offices. Supervise professional staff of Athletic Academic Services including oversight of success programs such as study hall, tutor services, study sessions, academic progress, tracking systems, progress reports, missed class/absence letters.
5. Provides instruction to help student-athletes learn strategies for academic success and to assist the student-athletes in developing more effective study strategies, time management and accountability
6. Works with coaches, student-athletes, athletic personnel and other University departments to ensure the academic success, educational and personal development of all student-athletes at NSU with particular interest and involvement with identified "at risk" student-athletes.
7. Acts as liaison to the Office of Disability Resources and Services, working with Academic Services and other colleagues to provide and coordinate a full range of support in addressing student athletes' academic, personal, and social concerns. Provide, enhance, and develop learning initiatives to support student development.
8. Represents Department of Athletics by presenting at professional conferences.
9. Acts as active member of appropriate professional organizations: NACWAA, etc.
10. Works with other members of the Athletics staff on the community outreach component of NSU Athletics (S.A.A.C.) and coordinate various community outreach requests on as as-needed basis.
11. Participates in the nomination process of student athlete recognition awards, as well as assist in the selection for the NCAA Leadership Conference, Career in Sports Forum and SSC and SAAC representation.
12. Provides sport program oversight/administration of select teams as determined by the Director of Athletics.
13. Serves as liaison with the Sunshine State Conference.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Working knowledge of NCAA academic eligibility.
2. Knowledge and understanding of collegiate academic structure and processes.
Skills:
1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
2. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
3. Demonstrated training or experience in teaching learning strategies and other study skill instructional techniques.
4. Skilled at creating rapport and building productive relationships with student athletes, while assisting colleagues in the development of a student-centered, service- oriented program of support.
Abilities:
1. Ability to lead and guide Division II student-athletes in their pursuit of a college degree.
2. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments

7. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards.

Required Experience: Two (2) years experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Doctoral Degree Preferred.
2. Experience in Higher education in an Athletic setting.
