Primary Purpose:

Assists the Head Golf Professional in daily operations of the club.

Job Category: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: 

Pay Basis:  Hourly

Subject to Grant Funding? No  

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Opens Golf Shop daily.

2. Answers the phones and takes tee times according to standards.

3. Greets members and guests according to standards.

4. Interacts with, and promotes, the game of golf within the membership.

5. Assists members by providing and interpreting policies, rules and regulations.

6. Operates the Golf Shop in absence of the Golf Professional.

7. Schedules and supervises all outside staff.

8. Schedules all golf operations meetings.

9. Must be able to perform the duties in any and all positions in the golf operation: shop
manager, shop attendant, second assistant, outside operations supervisor, bag room attendant, starter, ranger, as needed.

10. Maintain a respectable golf game to play with members.

11. Conducts inventory to standards.

12. Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.

13. Assists with the operation of golf tournaments, such as, scoring and notifying players of rules and regulations of course play.

14. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors/managers.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Must be able to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure.

2. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop or bend for duration of shift [at least (8) hours].

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Must be familiar with golf course etiquette.

2. Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to give golf lessons to members and guests.

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Certified as a Golf Professional with the P.G.A.

2. Computer literacy is preferred.

2. Previous training as a manager is preferred.
