Develops and oversees revenue-generating business strategies to support organizational goals, including facilitating partnerships and supporting new and expanding programs. Provides finance support for various centers (colleges/schools or service/administrative departments) as requested by Financial Operations leadership.

Essential Job Functions:
Business Development Functions
1. Develops and oversees revenue-generating business strategies to support organizational goals, including facilitating partnerships and supporting new and expanding programs.
2. Identifies, develops, and evaluates business strategies based on organizational objectives, market opportunities, and cost factors.
3. Formulates, directs, and coordinates business development activities to promote programs, collaborating with stakeholders as needed.
4. Initiates market research studies and analyzes findings to guide strategic decisions.
5. Advises senior management on external factors impacting business opportunities.
6. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with leadership, government officials, and business executives to foster new opportunities.
7. Uses forecasting and strategic planning methods to analyze business developments and monitor market trends.
8. Completes special projects as assigned.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Finance Functions
1. Provides finance support for various centers (colleges/schools or service/administrative departments) as requested by Financial Operations leadership. This includes serving in an interim capacity for key finance-related positions within centers experiencing vacancies and providing training/on-boarding support for new employees within such roles.
2. Coordinates and oversees process improvement initiatives and special projects involving the center finance/business officer network, including leverage best-practices across centers, ensuring consistency in financial and business processes, etc.
3. Provides project support for university initiatives under the direction of various Financial Operations leaders, depending on the subject matter area.
4. Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, or other financial and operational reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procedural standards.
5. Reports to management regarding the finances of assigned unit(s).
6. Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses and provide advice to leadership.
7. Assists with the preparation of complex spreadsheets, performance measurements, and data visualization (charts and graphs).
8. Reviews operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs and advises leadership on corrective actions as necessary.
9. Compiles and analyzes accounting records and other data to determine financial resources required to implement programs and projects.
10. Provides advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation.
11. Assists with the development, maintenance, and analysis of budgets, including preparing periodic reports comparing budgeted revenues and expenses to actuals.
12. Prepares and/or reviews purchase orders, check requests, expense reports, journal entries, and/or budget transfers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with respective policies and procedures.
13. Seeks new ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
14. Completes special projects as assigned.
15. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required: Business, Finance, or related field
Required Experience: Eight (8) or more years of related experience.

M.B.A. or similar degree
