Primary Purpose:
Provides guidance and support to Dual Admission students, helping them reach their educational and career objectives. Designs and oversees personalized success plans, facilitates experiential learning opportunities, and cultivates strong collaborations with their assigned college to promote academic and professional success.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Evaluates students' strengths and areas for improvement in academics, career development, and personal growth by identifying factors that impact their progress. Assesses changing goals, explore alternative pathways, and interprets non-cognitive assessment results to help students set realistic academic and career objectives. This includes developing an Individualized Student Success Plan and Portfolio.
2. Monitors dual admissions students' academic progress toward their degree by identifying current and potential challenges that may affect their transition into a professional program such as analyzing progress reports from instructors, determining eligibility and satisfactory progress toward degree. Works to address these needs while meeting or exceeding established annual retention and cohort matriculation goals.
3. Provides information to students regarding NSU degree programs, and available concentration options.
4. Connects students with relevant resources to enhance their graduate school applications and meet dual requirements, including professional test preparation materials and initiatives that bolster their academic competitiveness.
5. Designs and facilitates workshops, training sessions, and other activities tailored to industry-specific cohort needs. Additionally, conducts and leads group sessions during new student orientations, Shark Preview health immersion events, shadowing programs, and other related initiatives.
6. Engages with and communicates with student caseload systematically, frequently, and intentionally through dual admission through various methods, including face-to-face meetings, group sessions, college-supported technology platforms, email, phone calls, text messages, and social media.
7. Provides information, analyzes data, and generates written reports on student progress as requested, contributing to retention and graduation efforts.
8. Shares details with students and parents about the Dual Admission programs, associated requirements, and the Pre-Health support services offered at NSU.
9. Supports graduate and professional schools in building a strong reputation for excellence within the university and promoting the program's benefits to prospective students.
10. Conducts exit interviews with students who withdraw from the program to gather insights that help refine current retention and matriculation strategies and develop new plans to address emerging challenges.
11. Keeps up-to-date with current trends in the health industry related to graduate/professional school admissions and engages in continuous training to stay informed about Dual Admission and overall NSU Graduate school offerings.
12. Completes other projects as assigned.

Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Major (if required:
Required Experience: 1. Minimum two (2) years of experience in a counseling/advising capacity.
2. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Communications, Psychology, or related field.
2. Experience as an Academic Advisor or Career Advisor.
