Primary Purpose:

Processes student and miscellaneous payments and enter data and payments into the NSU specific software system.

 

Job Category: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range:  $18.20 per hour/$35,490.00 annually

Pay Basis:  Hourly

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Processes credit card payments for payment plans, University school programs and other University activities to ensure monies are applied to the correct accounts.

2. Reconciles the daily credit card reports to ensure credit cards are processed accurately.

3. Prepares and processes credit card refunds in Touchnet to ensure credit balances are refunded in accordance with University policies.

4. Researches credit card payment inquiries for students and the NSU community and resolves issues to ensure questions are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.

5. Enters data and payments into NSU specific software systems to ensure accurate processing and recordkeeping.

6. Conducts review of seat and housing deposits for release and application to student accounts

7. Reviews incoming seat and housing deposit payments in Touchnet to be applied in NSU specific software system.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to accurately handle numbers (account reconciliations), to compute numbers mathematically, and to transcribe numbers correctly. Strong 10-key skills.

2. Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; data entry skills; Internet research abilities.

3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

4. Ability to prioritize work in order to complete multiple tasks within time deadlines.

5. Excellent of customer service skills.

6. Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy.

7. Proactive, punctual, and reliable.

8. Ability to work independently.

9. Good organizational and time management skills.

10. Excellent conflict resolution skills.

11. Ability to maintain confidential information.

12. May need to work evenings and weekends, if necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.

2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.

4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. High School Diploma and two (2) years of financial related work experience in an office environment.

--OR--

Associate's Degree and one (1) year of financial related work experience in an office environment.

2. At least three (3) months of accounts receivables or credit card processing work experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Minimum of three (3) years of financial related work experience in an office environment.
2. Work experience in student accounting systems.
3. Minimum one (1) year work experience in account receivables or credit card processing.
4. Experience working in an academic institution, preferably in higher education.

6. Experience in Banner and other NSU software systems.
