Primary Purpose:

Educates graduate and/or post graduate students, with a prior faculty appointment or by way of experience in a responsible position related to an academic area of specialization.

 

Job Category: Exempt

Hiring Range:  Commensurate with experience

Pay Basis:  Annually

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Serves as Director of Medical Education at Broward Health, working with students, interns, and residents.
2. Teaches KPCOM courses in the classroom or in small group discussion or laboratory as needed or assigned.
3. Participates in ambulatory and hospital patient care.
4. Participates in OSCE training for the residents/interns if needed.
5. Maintains a personal professional development plan which may include research or other creative activities to assure growth within the field.
6. Participates in department and college wide and hospital committees as requested.
7. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to maintain confidentiality of administrative matters.
2. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from faculty, staff, students and the general public.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 1. Must be board eligible or board certified in appropriate area of specialization.
2. Must have a Florida medical license.

Required Education: Terminal Degree (Highest degree in field of study)

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Must have D.O. or M.D. degree.
2. Must be graduate of an AOA approved College of Osteopathic Medicine.
3. Successful completion of an AOA approved internship and residency.
