Primary Purpose:
Demonstrates expertise in educating undergraduate, graduate, and/or post graduate students, with a prior faculty appointment or by way of experience in a responsible position related to an academic area of specialization.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Teaches College of Osteopathic Medicine course(s) online, in the classroom or in small group discussion or laboratory as assigned.
2. Teaches and works closely with the faculty of the other College of Osteopathic Medicine undergraduate, graduate programs and post graduate.
3. Provides ongoing review and revisions for the courses in the BSHI, MSHI programs and the health informatics courses in the DO curriculum.
4. Provides and maintains a reliable schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, remediation, consultation and mentoring.
5. Participates in department and college wide committee meetings.
6. Engages in curriculum development related to current and new courses including incorporation of Health Informatics into the DO curriculum.
7. Maintains a personal professional developmental plan which may include research or other creative activities to assure growth within the specified field or discipline.
8. Displays professional behavior and ethics in all aspects of job performance.
9. Participates in professional health informatics organizations i.e., AMIA, CAHIIM, and HIMSS.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Display adaptability and willingness to teach courses and/or perform special duties as assigned when applicable.
2. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: Terminal Degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.)
Major (if required: Health Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, and/or Medicine
Required Experience: Two (2) years of teaching, administrative, and/or research experience at an accredited institution.
