Primary Purpose:

Integrates teaching, research, and clinical services to provide quality education for students.

 

Job Category: Exempt

Hiring Range:  Commensurate with Experience

Pay Basis:  Annually

Subject to Grant Funding?   

Essential Job Functions: 

1.Teaches core clinical psychology courses in the areas of objective and projective personality assessment. The teaching load is contingent on research productivity.
2. Maintains an active research program, including developing peer-reviewed
publications in assessment and related areas.
3. Mentors doctoral students in research.
4. Creates a climate conducive to learning.
5. Participates in department wide activities such as faculty meetings, clinical competency examinations, chairing dissertations/directed studies, etc. as assigned.
6. Contributes to appropriate NSU and College committees, and professional
associations.
7. Maintains a professional development plan to assure growth and currency within the academic field.
8. Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Department Chair and/or Dean.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to teach assessment courses, especially in the areas of objective personality assessment and projective personality assessment.

Required Certifications/Licensures: Licensed or license eligible in the State of Florida.

Required Education: Doctoral Degree

Major (if required: Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology or related field

Required Experience: 1. Record of external funding to support a research program (or evidence of potential to secure external funding).
2. A record of scholarly publications with a focus on assessment.
3. College and/or university level teaching experience or related training experience in clinical assessment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Experience training assessment especially in the area of personality assessment.
2. Ability to teach courses in cognitive assessment is a plus but not required.
