Primary Purpose:
Manages the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of NSU audio visual (AV) solutions.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Plans, manages, supervises and coordinates work activities of subordinates and staff, including hiring, coaching, evaluating, and terminating, all in accordance with University policies and procedures.
2. Analyzes and translates audio visual physical designs for installation planning and to applies industry standard AV installation techniques.
3. Assists with the design of AV solutions based on their AV installation expertise.
4. Develops and communicates internal AV installation project schedules, tasks assignments, project inventory and installation testing schedules.
5. Reviews, analyzes, and refines AV installation requirements and techniques to ensure quality.
6. Develops AV rack diagrams, wire diagrams and cable termination instructions in compliance with NSU AV standards.
7. Provides expert level AV installation method knowledge in support of internal and outsourced AV installations.
8. Conducts and evaluates high-level labor intensive AV troubleshooting and resolution.
9. Facilitates orders for AV projects via procurement software system, develops AV RFP documentation and collaborates with the Office of Procurement to facilitate quotes and proposals.
10. Presents new ideas for AV solutions and installation techniques to improve service timelines and user experience.
11. Reviews technology trends to stay on top of industry AV technology and installation techniques.
12. Assists in determining relevance and potential value of new AV technologies to support NSU objectives and strategies for preeminence.
13. Documents AV installation inventory and updates Fixed Assets on locations of AV capital assets.
14. Participates in internal and external training to increase technical skills, job knowledge and performance effectiveness.
15. Completes special projects as assigned.
16. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: KNOWLEDGE:
1. Advanced knowledge of MS Project, Excel, MS Power BI and/or other database reporting tools.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of AV solutions, AV Signal Flow and AV Control solutions.
3. Personnel and Human Resources - General knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, and training.
4. Customer and Personal Service - Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

1. Proficient skills with power and hand tools utilized for AV installations and repair to ensure subordinates are knowledgeable in the safe use of these tools.
2. Complex Problem Solving – Proficient skills in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options.

1. Ability to utilize and knowledge of utilization of basic hand tools to rack AV components, terminate cable and perform basic AV repair for AV installations and repair.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
1. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.

3. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
4. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
5. May be required to work nights or weekends.
6. May be required to lift, pull, and push objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to climb ladders.
7. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
8. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards.
Required Certifications/Licensures: 1. Valid Florida Driver’s License.
2. Extron Certifications for AV Configuration and Control
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Major (if required: Technology or closely related field
Required Experience: 1. Minimum five (5) years of AV support experience with emphasis on AV installation, support and repair for higher education or related industry.
2. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum seven (7) years of AV support experience with emphasis on AV installation, support and repair for system design and support for higher education or related industry.
