Primary Purpose:
Supports NSU University School’s culture by developing, collaborating, and leading programs and initiatives that advance the school’s culture and community experience, fostering an environment that promotes individual learning and personal growth. Plays a vital role in fostering strong connections among students, parents, and faculty. Enhances student and family engagement, strengthens stakeholder relationships, and promotes a dynamic school culture through strategic communications and programs. Focuses on professional development and supporting faculty as they work with a wide variety of students to ensure that all student needs are met and that students are supported on all levels.

Essential Job Functions:
This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.
1. Partners with leadership to promote best practices that are consistent with the school’s culture and values to ensure design and delivery of content and policies that align with the school’s mission
2. Develops and implements programs that encourage student involvement in school life across all grade levels (PK-12).
3. Serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration to support engagement and address community needs.
4. Develops programs that foster understanding of relational perspectives and needs of students of at all levels.
5. Develops programs and curriculum that strengthen cross-divisional connections, ensuring engagement efforts are cohesive from early childhood through high school.
6. Coordinates engagement initiatives, including educational workshops, volunteer opportunities, and parent association activities.
7. Serves as a resource for faculty and staff in providing academic, emotional, and social support for students and families.
8. Works with admissions to support new families in their transition to the NSU University School community and culture through orientation, education, and mentorship programs.
9. Organizes school-wide traditions, celebrations, and initiatives that foster a strong and connected school environment.
10. Collaborates with student leadership groups (e.g., student council, clubs) to support student-driven initiatives.
11. Promotes school spirit and engagement through communication and participation in school activities.
12. Builds relationships with community stakeholders to enhance the school’s presence and engagement beyond the campus.
13. Serves as a representative of the school at community events, fostering positive relationships with external partners.
14. Develops and implements communication strategies to keep students, parents, and faculty informed about school activities, initiatives, and opportunities.
15. Collaborates with the marketing and advancement teams to create newsletters, social media content, and promotional materials.
16. Ensures that messaging, programs, and curricular initiatives align with the school’s mission, values, and brand identity.
17. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Experience developing, leading, and supervising staff in consensus building and managing sensitive topics.
2. Experience developing and facilitating professional development to diverse groups.
3. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during emotionally charged, difficult, or high-pressure situations; ability to manage thoughtfully the personal, political, and organizational dynamics related to equity issues within the division.

Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required:
Required Experience: Three (3) years of experience working in professional development, leadership, or curriculum development.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated success in K-12 education experience in an Independent School setting.
2. Master’s degree in education or related field is preferred.
