Primary Purpose:
Cultivates, solicits, and stewards existing foundation and corporate relationships while
developing new philanthropic relationships to support the university's priorities. Manages a portfolio of 80-120 current and prospective donors, including local and national foundations and corporations. Provides strategic direction and daily supervision for the university's central corporate and foundation development program. Seeks funding opportunities of $100,000+ to support colleges and units across the university.

Essential Job Functions:
1 Manages a portfolio of approximately 80-120 corporations and foundations. The portfolio should be dynamic and include a balance of foundation and corporations at various stages in the development continuum, including active qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
2. Facilitates 100 meaningful contacts per year, with an emphasis on in-person and virtual meetings. Each meaningful contact MUST be reported through the prospect management system by filing a contact report.
3. Submits approximately 25 - 40 proposals of $100,000 or more each year.
4. Identifies 25 new foundation and corporate prospects that have the inclination and capacity to support the university at the $100,000+ level.
5. Leads the planning and implementation of a strategic development plan for the Corporate and
Foundation Relations Office.
6. Serves as primary university liaison for all foundation and corporate relationships, as well as public face of the Office within the community.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
2. Computer experience including Internet research, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point, Windows and relational database experience. Familiarity with Banner software a plus.
3.Ability to travel extensively in assigned geographic territory and to other off-site locations as requested.
4. Highly organized: able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Ability to independently organize and schedule appointments to assure that targets for number of personal visits and/or personal contacts are met each week.
6. Works with minimal supervision and uses independent judgment.
7. Ability to travel.
8. Must be disciplined, detailed and result-oriented.
9. Must be highly organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required Certifications/Licensures: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license and automobile insurance.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required:
Required Experience: 1. Minimum of seven (7) years experience in major gifts, Corporate and Foundation Relations, or senior level development work with preference for background in higher education or healthcare philanthropy.
2. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible fund-raising experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's Degree.
2. CFRE Certification.
3. Experience in development at an academic institution with a strong emphasis in major gift and capital campaign achievements.
