Primary Purpose:

Primary Purpose Participate in a two-week field deployment to prepare and configure physical oceanographic sensors for in-water deployment.

Participates in the design, execution, analysis and evaluation of Physical Oceanography research projects, under the supervision of an Oceanographic Center Faculty member, Research Scientist, or Principal Investigator.

Hiring Range:  $62.50

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Oversees the maintenance, operation and pre-deployment configuration of Physical Oceanographic equipment to be deployed on the NESS lander system at a UK location, including but not limited to:
a. Polatomic self-contained Helium 3 magnetometers

2. Must be available and able to travel to Scotland (UK) in early December 2025.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to utilize or learn to utilize software relevant to the research program, new research methods and, work routines quickly.

2. Ability to work within an existing, small team of experts to facilitate the deployment of the NESS lander.

3. Ability to read and comprehend reports and other scientific literature, information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: Required Experience High School Diploma or equivalent and twenty (20) years of related experience in Marine Electronics.

--OR--

Bachelors' Degree and ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of related experience in Marine Electronics.
