Primary Purpose:

The Video Production Specialist is responsible for planning, filming, editing, and producing high-quality video content that supports the initiatives of the Advancement and Community Relations department. This role plays a key part in telling impactful stories—especially those of donors and community partners—through compelling visual media that aligns with NSU’s mission and brand standards.

Essential Job Functions: 

• Plan, film, and produce video content for Advancement and Community Relations initiatives, including donor stories.
• Collaborate with university departments and stakeholders to develop creative concepts and visual storytelling approaches that align with NSU’s mission and brand standards.
• Capture high-quality footage, including interviews, campus scenes, and event coverage, ensuring optimal lighting, audio, and composition.
• Edit raw video footage into compelling, polished pieces suitable for digital platforms, social media, and live events.
• Incorporate B-roll, graphics, titles, and music to enhance storytelling and visual appeal.
• Ensure brand consistency across all produced videos, adhering to NSU’s visual identity and messaging guidelines.
• Manage post-production workflows, including color correction, sound mixing, and final export in multiple formats.
• Organize and archive digital assets and maintain a catalog of footage for future use.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: One (1) to two (2) years experience in video production, including filming, editing, and post-production.
