Essential Job Functions: 1. Performs daily front desk operations including financial transactions to ensure optimal revenue collection.

2. Schedules patient appointments to ensure smooth patient flow and business operations.

3. Enters / reviews data and/or accounts in NSU specific software systems.

4. Responds to internal (NSU) and external inquiries and resolves complex problems requiring broad understanding of policies and procedures.

5. May lead, train and monitor the work of clinic staff.

6. Verifies and processes all accepted insurance plans.

7. Coordinates with labs and physicians authorizations and referral for specialists.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.

2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.

4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: High School Diploma and minimum three (3) years of directly related experience.

--OR--

Associates' Degree or 60 college credits and minimum two (2) years of directly related experience.


For College of Dental Medicine internal candidates only:

HS and one (1) year of service as Patient Access Representative or Patient Management Coordinator or combination of both.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Associates' Degree or 60 college credits and minimum two (2) years of directly related experience.

2. Minimum two (2) years of healthcare experience.

3. Experience with Electronic Medical Record system.

4. Multi-lingual.
