Essential Job Functions: 1. Develops a giving program focused on securing different types of gifts.

2. Prepares and completes gift proposals and illustrations, and other gift agreements to secure major outright and deferred gifts.

3. Creates and enhances gift proposals, case statements, and persuasive messaging.

4. Identifies, researches, contacts, cultivates, solicits and stewards a portfolio of approximately 100 to 125 donors, with an initial goal of 4 strategic actions weekly, including 2 meaningful face-to-face prospect visits. Maintains current, accurate Prospect Management reports on Banner, including: a. strategic action reports; b. prospect pipeline; c. prospect status; and, d. prospect list.

5. Works with prospects, academic leaders, other development staff and volunteers to develop solicitation and gift strategies.

6. Consults with donors' advisors responsible for the completion of gift agreements. Assists prospective donors and their advisors in clarifying objectives, obtaining and recording pertinent information.

7. Cultivates and stewards relationships with established donors and members of NSU’s different societies.

8. Identifies, in partnership with UA staff, new prospects having the inclination and capacity to qualify as major gift prospects.

9. Develops a comprehensive centralized marketing program for purposes of promoting different levels of giving.

10. Supports school/college/program-based efforts to promote complex gifts by assuming a leadership role in devising various marketing plans to each unit to various audiences. Helps train and mentor develop team on different forms of giving.

11. Manages the activities of the different advisory councils. Plans agendas, coordinates and helps supervise the meetings and activities of the councils.

12. Develops and implements special events and programs designed to identify prospective donors, trains the professional community and to market the university giving opportunities.

13. Prepares and implements a plan of action annually.

14. Manages and implements new initiative, in order to engage new donors to NSU and secure major/leadership gifts.

15. Works cooperatively and collaboratively with the President's Office, Ambassadors Board Members, Deans, Vice Presidents, etc. to secure leadership gifts.

16. Supervises development staff to ensure they are meeting metrics and provide oversight and leadership to the department.

17. Supervises and works closely with the Campaign Committee to lead the process of securing major philanthropic gifts, some of which may be blended gift commitments.

18. Increases engagement within the NSU landscape, including the President, Board of Trustees, President's Council, Ambassadors Board Members and UA Leadership.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Works cooperatively and collaboratively with faculty and staff members throughout NSU.

2. Represents the University Advancement and NSU at activities, as needed.

3. Participates in University Advancement and university committees, as requested.

4. Creates office systems to support all processes and procedures for project operations.

5. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Demonstrates experience and understanding of development strategies and alumni relations, particularly planned giving.

2. Ability to independently organize and schedule appointments to assure that targets for the number of personal visits and/or personal contacts are met each month.

3. Ability to communicate effectively as evidenced by clarity and conciseness of oral and written presentations.

4. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with others.

5. Computer experience including Internet research, MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, Windows and relational database experience.

6. Ability to travel locally, regionally, and in assigned geographic territory as well as to other off-site locations as requested.

7. Must be disciplined, detailed and result-oriented.

8. Must be highly organized and able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures: Must possess a valid Driver's License and automobile insurance.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible fund-raising experience.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Journalism degree.

2.Masters Degree.

3. Seven (7) years fundraising experience within a higher education, hospital, or non-profit setting.
