Essential Job Functions: 1. Assists the head coach in the organization and total well-being of the athletic program.

2. Acts as supervisor/head coach representative in the absence of the head coach.

3. Researches and identifies prospective student-athletes and makes recommendations to the head coach regarding acceptance with a specific team.

4. Targets potential student-athlete populations, formulates a plan to attract those student-athletes to the school, and initiates recruiting trips.

5. Assists the head coach in the organization and preparation of practice/game plans, and the implementation of strength and conditioning schedules.

6. Monitors the academic progress of student-athletes to comply with NCAA and Sunshine State policy and takes appropriate action.

7. Represents the university and the department in community events.

8. Abides fully with the NCAA's constitution, operating bylaws, and administrative bylaws for the purpose of compliance.

9. Completes special projects as assigned.

10. Performs other duties as assigned or required by Athletics Administration, Head Coach or Athletic director.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:

1. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
2. NCAA Rules and Regulations – Strong working knowledge and understanding of all NCAA rules and regulations regarding compliance issues.
3. Sport Experience – Extensive knowledge of individual and team skills with the ability to teach these skills.

1. Active Listening – Proficient skills in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
2. Speaking - Proficient skills in talking to others to convey information effectively.

6. Writing - Proficient skills in communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Abilities:

1. Recruiting – The ability to evaluate and compare athletic talent for potential growth and development of student-athletes. Maintain correspondence with a large number of prospects: e-mail, letters, and phone.
2. Academic Monitoring – The ability to establish and monitor an academic system that ensures academic success for the student-athlete.
3. Verbal Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
4. Written Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
5. Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
6. Inductive Reasoning - The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
7. Problem Solving - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Physical Requirements:

1. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
2. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.
3. Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
4. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
5. May be required to work nights or weekends.
6. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
7. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards.

Required Experience: Equivalent combination of education and experience to equal three (3) years.

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one (1) year playing and/or coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree.

2. Master's degree.
