Essential Job Functions: 1. Provides College guidance services to assigned caseload of students in grades 9-12 in coordination with the guidance department.
2. Provides College guidance services to all upper school students and parents.
3. Provides, on a limited basis, personal/social counseling to students with identified needs.
4. Provides academic counseling to students based on parent/student/teacher request; a review of student performance on midterm reports and report cards; a listing of students who have been placed on academic probation; or by review of standardized testing.
5. Maintains regular contact with teachers and administrators regarding the academic, social, and emotional needs of assigned students, in conjunction with guidance department.
6. Refers students for academic/psychological testing and/or personal and family counseling to other approved professional sources in the community, if needed.
7. Responds to faculty requests for assistance in dealing with the special needs or concerns that develop with individual students.
8. Sets-up, conducts, and follows-up on parent conferences including monitoring the commitments made by teachers and other school staff at conferences to the assistant director for academic affairs.
9. Maintains guidance files for all assigned students in grades 9-12.
10. Participates in the scheduling of students by understanding and interpreting the master schedule, completing, with student and parent input, the course requests for the next school year for each assigned student. Assists in the resolution of conflicts in student schedule, initiates appropriate schedule changes and secures administrative approval for all changes.
11. Assists with the standardized testing program for grades 9-12, including PSAT's for students in grades 9-11 and the PSAT/SAT and AP testing.
12. Oversees and coordinates within the guidance department, the monitoring and mailing of all reports of student's progress; general progress reports; weekly or bi-weekly progress reports; homework reports; mid-term reports; and quarterly report cards.
13. Coordinates services and accommodations for those students needing such as identified by their learning profile.
14. Assists in the selection of students for special programs and projects.
15. Assists in planning awards night for high school students, including the coordination and selection of student recipients for special academic awards.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Assists in gathering and compiling information for special reports and curriculum revisions.
2. Sponsors at least one extra-curricular activity for students, including special interest groups, clubs, organizations, class sponsorship, etc. as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Successful completion of the FDLE Background Screening.

Required Experience: Three (3) years' experience in guidance, counseling or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master's degree in guidance, counseling or related field.
2. Valid State Certification in Guidance or equivalent.
3. Experience in college placement.
