Essential Job Functions: | This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced. 1. Plans and implements an appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers 2. Establishes an enriching, safe, and clean classroom and playground environment. 3. Demonstrates effective class management appropriate for infants and toddlers. 4. Designs and develops learning materials. 5. Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with participating parents and coworkers. 6. Fulfills work obligations including: promptness, staff meetings, open house attendance and parent orientations. 7. Attends and completes designated in-service trainings provided by MSI, in addition to yearly in-service training hours mandated by the state of Florida 8. Maintains a professional posture regarding program participants, co-workers and administration. 9. Coordinates/oversees curriculum development and implementation for classrooms as specified by the program director. 10. Conducts trainings and workshops for staff as specified by the program director. Assists in new employee orientation by undertaking peer-mentor duties as specified by the program director. 11. Performs other duties as assigned or required. |
Marginal Job Functions: | 1. Presents at professional workshops. 2. Assists staff in special project assignments. 3. Attends Family Center and University sponsored functions. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Ability to lift, carry, and put down up to fifty (50) pounds on a continuous basis. Repeated lifting and placing down of children required. |

Required Certifications/Licensures: | 1. Successful completion of the FDLE Background Screening. 2. Must complete prior to the first day of employment the on-line Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Training (4-hour course). 3. Must complete within ninety (90) days of hire the state mandated Early Literacy for Children Birth to Three childcare trainings (5-hour course). 4. Complete yearly in-service trainings provided by the NSU University School Preschool. |
