Essential Job Functions: 1. Teach courses in M.S. in Counseling program and provide clinical supervision as assigned by the Department Chair.

2. Support the mission of the Department by demonstrating flexibility in the scheduling of courses and supervision.

3. Engage in scholarship which includes research, grant writing, publishing, and professional presentations.

4. Participate in Departmental and College activities such as faculty meetings, committee work, outreach, events, etc.

Director Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate student progress throughout the program from orientation to graduation.
2. When problems arise, counsel, make recommendations, or direct students and/or faculty toward solutions. Consult with the Department Chair as needed.
3. Ensure that student records are accurately maintained in accordance with university policy and FERPA, annual performance reviews are completed in a timely manner, and passage rates on FLDOE exams are tracked. Track alumni for program and accreditation purposes.

4. Manage all matters pertaining to institutional and program assessment and evaluation (e.g., SACs, ASLO, ASPIRE, quality improvement efforts, student grievances, curriculum design/review, and transfer equivalency).

5. Serve as the institutional liaison between students, the program, and FLDOE certification, including addressing questions of eligibility for certification and FLDOE requirements.

6. Manage the requirements of and ensure compliance with the program standards of relevant accrediting bodies (e.g., CAEP, ASCA, FLDOE) for the M.S. in Counseling program in School Counseling.

7. In collaboration with EMSA team, implement and evaluate a comprehensive student recruitment, admission, and retention plan. Participate in recruitment and admissions activities, including open houses, training sessions, etc.

8. Manage program communication with students (e.g., website updates for School Counseling concentration, web resources for students, and School Counseling components in student handbooks).

9. Jointly coordinate recruitment, orientation, training, and evaluation of part-time core and adjunct faculty with Department Chair. Work collaboratively with the Program Coordinator/Academic Advisor for the School Counseling concentration.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Represent the College, Department, and Concentration on committees as assigned.

2. Participate in Departmental leadership and strategic planning.

3. Represent the Concentration at special events.

4. Ensure implementation of technology, including online courses and technology to enhance teaching and learning, and program evaluations.

5. Other responsibilities or duties as assigned by the Chair or the Dean of the College.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:  
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures: Certified as a School Counselor in the State of Florida or eligible for certification in the State of Florida.
Required Education: Doctoral Degree
Major (if required): Counseling or related field
Required Experience: 1. Graduate teaching experience.

2. Clinical supervision.

3. Administrative experience in an academic institution.

4. Works of scholarship.
