Essential Job Functions: | 1. Manages the Prospect Management and Development Research program. 2. Manages the Prospect Action Tracking (MOVES Management) program. 3. Tracks and maintains records on the MOVES Management performance of all development officers who are responsible for a prospect portfolio. Report results monthly to the Assistant Vice President of Development and the Dean to whom each DOD reports. 4. Manages the comprehensive proactive and reactive prospect research function. 5. Manages the peer rating/screening program 6. Manages the University's prospect/donor peer rating/screening and evaluation program. 7. Manages the University's Prospect Clearinghouse program. 8. Manages process of prospect assignment. 9. Develops strategic donor identification and cultivation programs in conjunction with the Assistant Vice President of Development and decentralized Development Directors. 10. Provides support for prospect visits, including preparing visit briefings and informational packets and arranging tours. 11. Actively solicits the needs of university wide development officers, negotiating deadlines and access to prospects/donors as appropriate. 12. Maintains a prospect/donor information resource library, including hard copy, CD ROM and on line sources. 13. Develops and manages an annual budget and monitor budgetary expenses. 14. Works with Information Systems to anticipate and maintain the department's technology needs. 15. Maintains proficiency on applicable computer programs and online information systems; ensure that staff members achieve and maintain appropriate efficiencies. 16. Develops and expands upon policies, procedures and systems necessary for the identification, evaluation and tracking of major gift prospects and donors. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | 1. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest ethical standards. 2. Ability to train, mentor, motivate and encourage staff and high-level volunteers. 3. Competency in relational and electronic database systems; preferably Banner. 4. Customer service orientation. 5. Excellent communication skills. 6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a deadline oriented, fast paced environment. |

Required Experience: | 1. Five (5) years experience utilizing electronic research and databases, library research, online databases, web-based applications, and peer research methodologies for the qualification of prospects. 2. Three (3) years of management and supervisory experience. 3. Experience working with and implementing action plans for the use of wealth screening data and experience in designing comprehensive reports. |
Preferred Qualifications: | 1. Masters Degree Preferred. 2. Previous experience in advancement services or prospect research at a higher education institution. |
