Essential Job Functions: 1. Participates in teaching activities as a teaching assistant in one of the following courses, depending upon background: optics lab, OTM, and/or assisting the optometry clinic or optical service.

2. Serves as research assistant in one of the following areas: visual optics, biochemistry, eye movement, or clinical vision research under the guidance of supervisor.

3. Ensures compliance with College and University policies, procedures and protocols.

4. Participates in teaching and service activities, as assigned.

5. Performs other duties as required.
Marginal Job Functions: Maintain workspace in orderly manner.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Must have attained a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL exam for proficiency in English, if a foreign native.

2. The ability to communicate effectively with others in English in both technical and non-technical language, both orally and in writing.

Required Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience in active research.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in optometry, ophthalmology, vision science or related field.
