Essential Job Functions: 1. Develops training strategy and plan based on needs assessment and performance analysis.
2. Analyzes training gaps of current skills and competencies against the skills required to drive employee productivity.
3. Acts as subject matter expert for adult learners to facilitate automated customer service and ensure employees have the skills to handle more complex customer situations.
4. Develops standards for course design, training delivery, training materials, as well as testing and evaluation.
5. Drives changes in curricula or delivery methods, based on information such as instructional effectiveness data, current or future performance requirements, feasibility, and costs.
6. Plans, develops, and provides training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
7. Partners at operational levels to ensure training infrastructure and operations are scaled to meet individual entity objectives.
8. Makes recommendations on “make or buy” decisions for training and course development.
9. Uses training performance data to communicate effectiveness of instructional systems, courses, and/or instructional materials.
10. Attends meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops and serves on committees.
11. Ensures compliance with University and departmental policies and procedures, to safeguard protected personal information at all times.
12. Completes special projects as assigned.
13. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions:  
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Personnel and Human Resources - General knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems.
2. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
3. Customer and Personal Service - Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
4. Psychology - General knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; and learning and motivation.
5. Communications and Media - General knowledge of media production, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via written, oral, and visual media.
6. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
7. Instructional Design – General knowledge of learning and instructional theory to ensure the quality of learning needs and delivery system to meet those needs.

5. Coordination - Advanced skills in adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
6. Critical Thinking - Advanced skills in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
7. Monitoring - Advanced skills in monitoring / assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
8. Self-Direction - Advanced skills in motivating oneself to work independently, as well as working well within teams.


Abilities:
1. Oral Comprehension & Expression - The ability to listen to, understand, and communicate information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences so others will understand.
2. Written Comprehension & Expression - The ability to read, understand, and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
3. Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
4. Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
5. Inductive Reasoning - The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).

Physical Requirements:
1. Near Vision - Must be able to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
2. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.
3. Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
4. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
5. May be required to work nights or weekends.

Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of training experience in adult learning.

Preferred Qualifications: NextGen, NetShare, Banner, Recruit and Avaya certification and/or experience.
