Essential Job Functions: | 1. Develops training strategy and plan based on needs assessment and performance analysis. 2. Analyzes training gaps of current skills and competencies against the skills required to drive employee productivity. 3. Acts as subject matter expert for adult learners to facilitate automated customer service and ensure employees have the skills to handle more complex customer situations. 4. Develops standards for course design, training delivery, training materials, as well as testing and evaluation. 5. Drives changes in curricula or delivery methods, based on information such as instructional effectiveness data, current or future performance requirements, feasibility, and costs. 6. Plans, develops, and provides training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops. 7. Partners at operational levels to ensure training infrastructure and operations are scaled to meet individual entity objectives. 8. Makes recommendations on “make or buy” decisions for training and course development. 9. Uses training performance data to communicate effectiveness of instructional systems, courses, and/or instructional materials. 10. Attends meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops and serves on committees. 11. Ensures compliance with University and departmental policies and procedures, to safeguard protected personal information at all times. 12. Completes special projects as assigned. 13. Performs other duties as assigned or required. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Knowledge: 1. Personnel and Human Resources - General knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems. 2. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. 3. Customer and Personal Service - Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction. 4. Psychology - General knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; and learning and motivation. 5. Communications and Media - General knowledge of media production, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
