Primary Purpose:
Provides general assistance in implementing an instructional program that is attentive to individual students' academic, social and emotional needs.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Responds to parent contacts regarding instructional concerns, referring parents to teacher, guidance counselor, a team leader, or curriculum coordinator, if appropriate.
2. Supports and guides teachers with curriculum mapping, curricular development, classroom management, environmental design and implementation of all research-based "best practices."
3. Assigns coverage for absent teachers and aides.
4. Oversees the monitoring of student academic, social/emotional and physical development progress to ensure that individual student needs are identified and implementations provided in a developmentally appropriate manner.
5. Assists in the development and implementation of the Lower School Calendar, schedules and helps plan/supervise special events such as orientation, Open House, photo sessions, parent workshops/ meetings, organization involvement, and others at the discretion of the Director.
6. Coordinates and assists faculty in the development of personal strategies for dealing effectively with classroom issues by providing resource services, recommending instructional strategies, approaches to behavioral issues and be responsible for special discipline needs as related to classroom, bus, playground, field trips: inclusive of all professional development as needed.
7. Proofs written communications and assists in establishing appropriate new processes including newsletters, U Link, updates, announcements, flyers, as it relates to early childhood and the entire school as needed.
8. Participates in interviews with prospective faculty members as needed.
9. Attends all school functions, in coordination with other administrative staff.
10. Coordinates school-wide schedules, academic progress reports, report cards and parent conferences as related to content.
11. Effectively provides support and guidance for all Lower School and School-wide policies as they relate to school mission and philosophy.
12. Assists the Director in the implementation and monitoring/tracking of all Vertical Integration efforts with all sites.
13. Assists the administrative staff in gathering and compiling information for special reports and curriculum revisions.
14. Assists Director with carpool responsibilities.
15. Assists Director as needed with any and all school-wide needs.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Required Certifications/Licensures: Florida State Teachers Certification/Early/Primary Childhood certification.
Required Education: Master's Degree
Major (if required:
Required Experience: 1. Five (5) years teaching experience.
2. Two (2) to four (4) years Supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral Degree.
