Primary Purpose:
Responsible for analyzing and automating the Bursar’s Banner job processes, and Automatic Scheduler; resolves data integrity issues, tests upgrades, manages student communications, and TouchNet payment functions.

Essential Job Functions:
1. May act as a subject matter expert for assigned system(s).
2. May act as project leader for assigned project(s).
3. Tests programs or databases, corrects errors, and makes necessary modifications.
4. Oversees the daily performance of assigned computer systems such as Bursar Banner job process and Automatic Scheduler.
5. Oversees Automatic Scheduler jobs that post late fees, holds, and BAPP, to student records among other new jobs, as necessary.
6. Enters commands and observes system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
7. Operates spreadsheet programs and other types of software to load and manipulate data and to produce reports.
8. Retrieves, separates, and sorts program output as needed, and sends data to specified users.
9. Generates Bursar reports to audit data quality, ensure accuracy, and increase productivity, as well as ad-hoc reports/queries.
10. Oversees the Bursar Banner module for the upgrades and updates.
11. Oversees the testing of TouchNet payment system used to send student bills and take payments.
12. Reviews Bursar processes, documents, and analyzes data.
13. Coordinates with Registrar and Financial Aid when implementing new processes to ensure tuition charges are correct and assessed properly.
14. Creates Fee Assessment reports and processes that may impact other areas within NSU.
15. Helps programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs.
16. Assists computer users encountering problems.
17. Assists with daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
18. Refers major hardware or software problems or defective products to internal departments or technicians for service.
19. Assists in developing training materials and procedures, and trains users in the proper use of software/applications, as well as policies and procedures.
20. Maintains data integrity and confidentiality.
21. Completes special projects as assigned.
22. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Computers and Electronics - Working knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications, programming, and/or systems configuration.
2. Customer and Personal Service - Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
3. Clerical - Working knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
4. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: Associate's degree or sixty (60) completed college credit hours.
Major (if required:
Required Experience: 1. Minimum of one (1) year of related experience, preferably with software systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience with Banner software system and Microsoft excel.
2. One (1) year of accounting experience.
