Primary Purpose:
Plays a critical role in cultivating relationships with community and regional influencers, which include founders or executives of influential corporate or charitable foundations, corporate leaders, business owners, civic leaders and retired executives. Develops strategies for external communication and events meant to attract new organizational leaders. Serves as a relationship builder in cultivating and qualifying prospects for Advancement Development staff and the Corporations and Foundations team.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Develops an annual operating plan with monetary and activity goals.
2. Collaborates with university leadership, faculty, and other departments to align strategies with institutional goals.
3. Serves as a university advocate and works with internal teams like development, marketing, public relations, academic units and student affairs in a collaborative effort to showcase the university excellence to the external public.
4. Manages, organizes, attends and / or facilitates meetings for Advancement team members with community influencers who have shown an interest in supporting or advocating for the university.
5. Builds, leads and mentors support staff members who assist in administrating corporate relations, communication, meetings and events.
6. Develops and implements strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit sponsorship support.
7. Stewards corporate and business partners.
8. Ensures accuracy of organizational information, coordinating with Advancement Services and Prospect Development for timely reporting, data entry, gift receipts, and related tasks.
9. Manages operating budgets, prepares projections and monitors budget transactions.
10. Oversees activities, logistics, communication and content development for corporate engagement events.
11. Attends development officers’ prospect development meetings, ACR staff meetings, and other ACR programs and initiatives.
12. Develops and maintain prospect lists that will be shared with Prospect Development and / or ACR fundraising professionals.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. General knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).
2. Personnel and Human Resources - General knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and personnel information systems.
3. Administration and Management - Thorough knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and/or coordination of people and resources.
4. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
5. Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
6. Event Planning – Proficient knowledge in organizing and managing events, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Required Certifications/Licensures: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required:
Required Experience: 1. Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a multi-departmental setting, preferably in higher education in the areas of volunteer, event, and/or fundraising experience.
2. Experience in customer relationship management and/or fundraising, working with volunteers and potential customers/donors.
3. Experience coordinating complex schedules between various university administrators, volunteers and prospective donors.
4. Experience planning, organizing and coordinating volunteer meetings and preparing required materials.
