Primary Purpose:

Manages the day to day operations of the Parent and Alumni Relations office and oversees school wide events, volunteer parent relations, and alumni relations. In consultation with the Assoc. Head, and the Director of Development will conceive, plan and implement a comprehensive cultivation program that generates support for the identified academic and capital needs of the University School; ensure that we maintain a robust alumni relations program; manage communications with alumni and grandparents ; plan and coordinate all major school-wide events.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Develops and manages the school's Parent and Alumni Relations program to include:
a. Serves as primary liaison to all parent volunteer meetings, events, activities, etc.
b. Manages the alumni database
c. Survey Alumni after graduation to monitor success
d. Plans Reunion Events and programs
e. Creates new events and programs to cultivate future interests.
f. Manages, updates and enhances the alumni communication process through Facebook, Website, emails, etc.

2. Oversees the planning and coordination of special celebrations and fundraising events, including but not limited to the Senior Graduation Ceremony, New Parent Receptions, Donor Dinner, and Volunteer Luncheon and others, as assigned.

3. Attends all alumni reunions planned by or for USchool alumni in Broward County.

4. Works with the Upper School Director to create and enhance programs for Upper School students that will engage them as alumni.

5. Conducts survey research within the three main constituency groups, parents, alumni and grandparents to maintain communication.

6. Staffs the fundraising, alumni relations, and volunteer management activities of the various volunteer groups organized for the University School.

7. Works with the Director of Development and the Associate Head to increase restricted and unrestricted funds from parents, grandparents, alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

8. Represents the University School to external constituencies as needed.

9. Coordinates the preparation of publications related to the development department including alumni newsletters.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

5. Ability to listen, respond appropriately, and make decisions in the interests of the school and its students.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Minimum three (3) year's experience in sales, marketing, development and alumni relations.

2. A proven successful track record in fundraising and/ or event management.
