Primary Purpose:

Teaches undergraduate and/or graduate courses in communication, speech, and/or interdisciplinary general education

Job Category: Exempt

Hiring Range: 

Pay Basis:  Annually

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Teaches eight undergraduate and/or graduate course sections per year in various formats as necessary (on-campus days, on-campus evenings, and online, etc.).

2. Participates in curriculum or program development, as assigned.

3. Be accessible to students according to College guidelines; maintain regular office hours for student advising and consultation.

4. Serves and contributes to appropriate Department, College and University committees.

5. Provides community service and participate in university, College, and Department functions that contribute to campus life, such as athletic events, orientation, receptions, etc. Participation at commencement, College and Department faculty meetings is mandatory.

6. Continues professional development activities.

7. Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Department Chair.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Proficiency in use of computer hardware and curriculum related software.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Doctoral Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: Experience or interest in developing online courses.

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Prior college-level teaching experience.
2. Strategic communication specialty.
