Primary Purpose:

The faculty member is responsible for teaching, providing clinical supervision, and mentoring students and student research in the doctoral clinical psychology programs. Evidence of scholarly productivity is required. A track record of potential to secure external funding to support research is desirable. A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational environment is essential.

Hiring Range:  Commensurate with Experience

Pay Basis:  Annually

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Teach core psychology assessment courses in the doctoral clinical programs or others as assigned. The teaching load is contingent on research productivity.
2. Maintain an active research program, including developing peer-reviewed
publications.
3. Mentor doctoral students in research.
4. Contribute to diversity and inclusivity in research, teaching, and service.
5. Create a climate conducive to learning.
6. Participate in department wide activities such as faculty meetings, clinical competency examinations, chairing dissertations/directed studies, etc. as assigned.
7. Serve on and contribute to appropriate NSU and College committees, and professional
associations.
8. Maintain a professional development plan to assure growth and currency within the academic field.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Department Chair and/or Dean.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Experience with external grant submission.

Required Certifications/Licensures: Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Florida

Required Education: Doctoral Degree

Major (if required: Clinical, counseling, or school psychology or related field

Required Experience: 1. Record of external funding to support a research program (or evidence of potential to secure external funding).
2. A record of scholarly publications.
3. College and/or university level teaching experience.


Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Experience in teaching graduate level courses.
