Primary Purpose:

Provides clinical supervision to graduate students in diagnosis and treatment of a variety of communication disorders.

 

Job Category: Exempt

Hiring Range:  Commensurate with experience

Pay Basis:  Annually

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Delivers live and videotaped demonstrations of treatment and diagnostic procedures for graduate students.
2. Provides direct delivery of services to clients as needed at one or more locations with or without the use of an interpreter or auxiliary aids.
3. Schedules and routinely conduct student clinician conferences.
4. Teaches courses (site based or online).
5. Participates in on and off-campus screening/identification activities.
6. Submits billing records and clinical reports in a timely manner.
7. Assists with curriculum development.
8. Attends faculty and supervisor's meetings as scheduled.
9. Participates in the department's research efforts.
10. Completes mandatory compliance training and on-going compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA and other regulations as appropriate.
11. Assesses student performance in diagnostics and treatment through written feedback, verbal feedback, and midterm and final evaluation forms.
12. Participates in local, state and national organizations, through membership, committee work, and presentations.
13. Attends meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops and serves on committees.
14. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements: 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to verbally communicate effectively with others, with or without the use of an interpreter.
2. Ability to communicate effectively in writing, with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services.
3. Ability to work cooperatively with graduate students, colleagues, supervisory staff, and support staff.

Physical Requirements:
1. Speech Recognition - Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person.
2. Speech Clarity - Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
3. Travel - Must be able to travel on a daily and/or overnight basis.
4. May be required to work nights or weekends.
5. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
6. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, mobile devices, and computer keyboards.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 1. ASHA CCC in speech-language pathology.
2. Florida State license in speech-language pathology.

Required Education: Master's Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Three (3) years of successful and relevant clinical experience.
2. Previous education and/or willingness to take continuing education in the area of supervision.
