Primary Purpose:

To assist NSU Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine students in understanding and learning subject material and achieving their personal academic goals by preparing them for upcoming class material.

Job Category: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range:  Commensurate with experience

Pay Basis:  Hourly

Subject to Grant Funding? No  

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Attends assigned training sessions.
2. Reviews course material and facilitate tutoring sessions for assigned course(s).
3. Delivers presentations to students which follow the current course syllabi.
4. Facilitates 2-hour tutoring/study table sessions with interactive learning activities.
5. Facilitates large review sessions.
5. Utilizes the following platforms and NSU systems regularly: ( (Zoom: Video Conferencing, Web Conferencing, NSU SharkTime (payroll system)
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Successful completion of the tutoring course(s) that are assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Ability to prioritize tasks.
3. Ability to collaborate with other tutors in shared sessions.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Good academic standing.
2. Have obtained a letter grade of “A” or a percentage range of 90% or higher in the course(s) the student tutors.

Preferred Qualifications: 

An official member of the Student American Academy of Osteopathy (SAAO).
Demonstrated motivation and true interest in OPP through course, experience, and/or during interview.
