Primary Purpose:
Coordinates and administers MS and LL.M. academic programs to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with institutional policies. Oversees student advising, managing course scheduling, supporting faculty coordination, and collaborating with university stakeholders to enhance academic experience and student success.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Manages the day-to-day operations of MS and LL.M. academic programs, including curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation.
2. Monitors and maintains compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and academic regulations.
3. Maintains accurate and complete student records as required by laws, policies, and administrative regulations.
4. Assists in the development and revision of academic policies and program materials, including course catalogs and student handbooks.
5. Develops and maintains course schedules each semester in collaboration with administration, faculty, department chairs, and the registrar’s office.
6. Monitors enrollment trends and adjusts course offerings to meet student demand and graduation requirements.
7. Coordinates with faculty to ensure adequate instructional coverage and support faculty onboarding processes.
8. Participates in the recruiting, selection, assignment, scheduling, and/or evaluation of adjunct faculty.
9. Oversees the academic advising process to ensure timely and effective guidance for students, particularly related to course selection, academic progress, and degree completion.
10. Serves as a point of escalation for complex advising cases or academic appeals.
11. Analyzes student performance data to inform advising strategies and interventions.
12. Assesses program quality, presents results, and makes recommendations to leadership.
13. Participates in budget preparation and reporting for assigned program(s).
14. Prepares special ad hoc reports/summaries by selecting relevant information from a variety of sources and designed to satisfy inquiries.
15. Serves as a liaison between the MS and LL.M. academic programs and other programs including the JD and BSL programs, as well as all administrative units within the Shepard Broad College of Law.
16. Serves as a liaison between the academic program and other university departments such as recruitment, admissions, registrar, financial aid, and student affairs.
17. Represents the MS and LL.M. academic programs at internal and external meetings, committees, and events.
18. Assists with alumni tracking and communication activities.
19. Contributes to strategic planning initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
20. Maintains data integrity and confidentiality.
21. Completes special projects as assigned.
22. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Administration and Management - Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and/or coordination of people and resources.
2. Customer and Personal Service - Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
3. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
4. Education and Training - Working knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
5. Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements:

Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Major (if required: Higher education administration, academic affairs, or related field.
Required Experience: 1. Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of experience in academic program management or related student service function.
--OR—
Master’s degree and three (3) or more years of experience in academic program management or related student service function.
2. Experience working with student information systems and course scheduling platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor degree.
2. Three (3) years of legal practice experience.
3. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a higher education setting.
4. Familiarity with accreditation and assessment practices.
