Primary Purpose:

Implementing genomics-based Close-Kin-Mark-Recapture methods to estimate population size and rays.

Job Category: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range:  32.69

Pay Basis:  Hourly

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Helps develop, design, and conduct research projects according to plan.
2. Set up and train Save Our Seas Foundation Shark Research Center staff to implement Close-Kin-Mark-Recapture methods in their research.
3. Participates in formulating research methods and suggesting options for improving quality and recommending solutions.
4. Participates in computer database design and utilization and research/data analysis and suggests future improvements in data management.
5. Evaluates experiment results using statistical and multivariate analysis.
6. Keeps detailed logs of all work-related activities.
7. Uses computers, computer-interfaced equipment, robotics or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties.
8. Sets up, adjusts, calibrates, cleans, maintains and troubleshoots laboratory and field equipment.
9. Acts as specialist on laboratory or other research methods and equipment functions.
10. Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
11. Advances expertise through education, training, and/or research experience.
12. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Advanced programming and statistical analyses skills related to Close-Kin-Mark-Recaptures

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Master's Degree

Major (if required: In Related Field

Required Experience: Experience using Close-Kin-Mark-Recapture methods
