Essential Job Functions: 1. Establishes and maintains contractual partnerships, directs staffing needs, ensures appropriate support services, and monitors compliance with all policies and procedures of NSU and external funding agencies.
2. Supervises a unit comprising several financial, administrative, and shared client services staff of the department.
3. Monitors all administrative processes, outputs and outcomes, and provides direction in the design, development, and implementation of protocols and systems designed to monitor and troubleshoot departmental functions impacting on its efficient operation towards meeting all administrative and contractual obligations.
4. Collaborates with various institutional units (i.e., Office of Sponsored Program, Grants Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll, etc.), subcontractors, and funding agencies on project-related matters including budgeting, resource allocation, audits, staffing, contractual affiliations, and other critical administrative issues.
5. Advises the Associate Dean/Program Director on opportunities for programmatic improvements, resource allocation, and other key administrative matters to ensure that intended departmental goals are achieved more effectively.
6. Develops all budgets in close coordination with the Associate Dean/Program Director and provides fiscal oversight of all major departmental expenditures including payroll, purchases, subcontractor payments, and others to ensure all expenditures are necessary, allocable, appropriate, and reasonable.
7. Administers the preparation and submission of all financial reports and documentation as required by the funding entities and all internal and external audits.
8. Supervises departmental compliance with effort certification, staff training requirements, annual performance reviews, and other human resources matters. Communicates with departmental supervisors to provide the appropriate leadership and direction as necessary to resolve administrative deficiencies and meet all deadlines as required.
9. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

6. Proficient skills in MS Office word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
7. Strong verbal and presentation skills, particularly in public settings.
8. Ability to develop reports, educational materials and other documents.
9. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and support staff at all levels.
10. Ability to work well with various internal and external stakeholders.
11. Ability to function in an academic setting.
12. Able and willing to travel occasionally (<10% of time) throughout the state of Florida.

Required Experience: Ten (10) years' experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity in an academic or not-for-profit organization.
