Essential Job Functions: 1. Responsible for the external-facing university website. Partners with NSU stakeholders to help implement content on nova.edu and affiliates webpages.
2. Oversees web & digital content including creating and/or acquiring strategic, results-oriented and appropriately branded content for marketing websites and digital assets to promote the university for enrollment and other public relations and marketing communications priorities.
3. Serves as a liaison between Public Relations and Marketing Communications, NSU's Office of Innovation and Information Technology (OIIT) team and other NSU stakeholders, as well as possible outside partners, as appropriate.
4. Content owner for top-level university and market-facing web pages and digital assets.
5. Helps develop, implement and oversee analytics strategies to track and evaluate performance of web and digital assets for timely tracking, reporting and problem-solving.
6. Provides reports, analytics and analysis of usage and search engine optimization (SEO), QA, and ADA compliance.
7. Monitors stakeholder-generated content and resolves issues as they arise.
8. Identifies user needs and trends, collaborates with teams to improve user experience and content governance.
9. Provides content strategy assistance to stakeholders with the creation and maintenance of their website and landing pages.
10. Develops copy/content for new or existing pages with SEO best practices and tone of voice in mind, to support key topics and business objectives of NSU.
11. Composes aesthetically visual layouts using the CMS widgets library and presents content in a hierarchal, engaging manner for an optimal user experience.
12. Contributes to other initiatives such as digital advertising, social media, enrollment com flows and emails, direct marketing campaigns, etc.
13. Conducts on-page optimizations of content with the assistance of project stakeholders and additional contractors.
14. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions: Assists with other College and University branding, marketing and communications projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Excellent customer service skills, ability to solve problems with customers and stakeholders and keep a positive attitude.
2. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with developers, designers, copywriters, and staff.
3. Proven work experience and ability to generate results as a digital media specialist or marketing writer/manager; Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of accomplishing goals through others and the ability to apply these principles in a business setting.
4. Search Engine Optimization – On-page and technical knowledge of improving a website in order to increase its rankings on search engine result pages.
5. Analytics - Knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Siteimprove, Screaming Frog, etc.)
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, content management systems (Modern Campus’ Omni CMS preferred), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere, Illustrator), and other relevant software; some working knowledge of Final Cut Pro or other media editing software.
7. Proficient in Mac and PC Platforms.
8. Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
9. Excellent project management skills and organizational ability. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and follow-through. Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently on long-term projects. Ability to lead as well as work as part of a team.
10. Ability to work with HTML, CSS and other front-end web design programming languages.
11. Must display advanced understanding of responsive web design and how content is displayed on various computing devices.
12. Demonstrated ability to use web, digital communications, and analytics to drive business decisions and positively influence traffic toward university websites and campaigns.
13. Experience in public speaking, being a spokesperson, and communicating a vision for a product or service.
14. Proficient in CRM platforms and industry best practices governing e-mail and digital communications.
15. Ability to communicate effectively verbally, and in writing, using the English language.
16. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staffs at all levels.
17. May be required to transport oneself to other campus offices, conference rooms and; on occasion, off-campus sites to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, etc.
