Essential Job Functions: | Teaching and Instruction • Design and deliver course content for undergraduate students in the ESE program. • Implement a variety of teaching techniques to support diverse learning needs. • Provide timely, constructive feedback and assess student performance. Student Advising and Support • Act as an academic advisor, assisting students with their educational and career goals. • Maintain office hours and offer additional support to ensure student success. • Track and evaluate student progress, providing guidance and resources as necessary. Course Development and Improvement • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance curriculum and instructional resources. • Stay informed on the latest research and trends in special education to enhance teaching methods. Collaboration with Stakeholders • Engage with fellow instructors and staff to achieve program objectives. • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program development and enhancement. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Knowledge • Extensive knowledge of special education practices, laws, and current research. • Familiarity with higher education policies and procedures. • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel). Skills • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently. • Skilled in active listening, critical thinking, and decision-making. • Competent in providing clear and effective instructions and feedback. Physical Requirements • Must be available to teach courses during the day on NSU Florida’s main campus in Davie, Florida. • Must be able to see details at close range. • Ability to identify and understand speech clearly. • Capable of speaking clearly for effective communication. |
