Essential Job Functions: | Essential Job Functions: Teaching and Instruction • Develop and deliver course content for undergraduate students in the Child Development program. • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles. • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and exams. Student Advising and Support • Serve as an academic advisor to students, guiding them in their educational and career planning. • Offer office hours and additional support to help students succeed in the program. • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing resources and interventions as needed. Course Development and Improvement • Collaborate with faculty to develop, update, and improve curriculum and instructional materials. • Stay current with research and developments in the field of child development to inform teaching practices. Collaboration with Stakeholders • Work with other instructors and administrative staff to ensure program goals are met. • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program initiatives and improvements. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge • Deep understanding of child development theories, practices, and current research. • Familiarity with higher education policies and procedures. • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel). Skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work independently. • Proficient in active listening, critical thinking, and decision-making. • Effective in providing clear and concise instructions and feedback. Physical Requirements • Must be available to teach courses during the day on NSU Florida’s main campus in Davie, Florida. • Must be able to see details at close range. • Ability to identify and understand speech clearly. • Capable of speaking clearly for effective communication. |
