Essential Job Functions: 1. Reviews and analyzes student account records and verifies credit balances from financial aid funds to ensure timely and accurate distribution and delivery and compliance of federal regulations.

2. Process, tracks, and maintains records of refund payments to students and parents to ensure account accuracy and proper record retention in compliance with federal regulations.

3. Determines credit balance amounts for return to the appropriate source, assigns and directs the accounts to the appropriate ESS departments for processing to ensure compliance with federal regulations and established contractual agreements.

4. Evaluates accounts to respond and counsel students on the disbursement and timely return of student loans to ensure compliance with federal regulations

5. Responds to inquiries and resolves complex problems requiring broad understanding of work-area policies and procedures in a timely manner to ensure questions are addressed and resolved.

6. Reviews, analyzes, and processes students' Unclaimed Property to ensure compliance with Federal and state regulations and guidelines.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Marginal Job Functions: 1. Travels to and participates in job related meetings, conferences and workshops.

2. Provides assistance to ESS and senior management regarding special project and assignments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to accurately handle numbers (account reconciliations), and to compute numbers mathematically and transcribe numbers correctly. Strong 10-key skills.

2. Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; data entry skills; Internet research abilities.

3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

4. Ability to prioritize work in order to complete multiple tasks within time deadlines.

5. Excellent of customer service skills.

6. Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.

2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.

3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.

4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures:  
Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: 1. High School Diploma and two (2) years of financial related work experience in an office environment.

--OR--

Associate's Degree and one (1) year of financial related work experience in an office environment.

2. At least three (3) months of bookkeeping or cashiering work experience.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Minimum of three (3) years of financial related work experience in an office environment.

2. Work experience in student accounting systems.

3. Minimum one (1) year work experience in bookkeeping or cashiering.

4. Experience working in an academic institution, preferably in higher education.

5. Some undergraduate business courses.

6. Experience in Banner system and other NSU software systems.
